By Colonel Herbert E. Ross. Colonel ross was a P-38 fighter Ace in both the 12th and 15th Air Forces in WWII. He flew in the North African and the Mediterranean theaters where he was credited with seven confirmed aircraft victories and the sinking of an Italian troop transport of approximately 25,000 tons! For his actions during the war, he received the Silver Star, Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with oak leaf clusters. After the war, he continued to serve as a jet pilot and was one of the few men selected to fly F-100s equipped with nuclear weapons. Colonel Ross is retired now, but still flies as a private pilot. These books are oversized "Trade Paperbacks". 8 1/2 inches by 11 inches, 197 pages, well written and heavily illustrated.
