Item #6835
Memories of a Japanese Prisoner of War, by Mario Machi.
US Army Corporal Machi was one of the Battling Bastards of Bataan. After fighting the Japanese invaders, these US and Philippine Troops, starving, poorly equipped and without hope for resupply were forced to surrender. They then endured the Bataan Death March where hundreds were killed by their Japanese captors. After which they were subjected to years of abuse and neglect. This is a must read for WWII historian/collectors. Sadly, Mr. Machi passed away and we only have a few signed copies available. Soft cover, 176 pages, 5.25 x 8.5.
