This is an excellent original Civil War Corps badge. These were made up during the war to easily distinguish between units. This corps badge is identified to the 15th Corps Badge (1st Division) "40 rounds." The badge is made up of enamel coated copper and brass. The badge has some damage at the top when someone dropped it. There is some damage to the back of the badge where a previous collector removed the catch to put them into a display. Overall a rare piece of Civil War history.
