Item #29197
This Eichhorn Army Officer's Dagger is a very nice example. The pommel of this dagger has no flaws showing a very little bit of wear around the rim. The silvering is intact throughout this pommel. The standing oak leaves and acorns are crisply detailed. The cross guard retains most of its silvering and has nice patina. The National Eagle is clear and does not appear to show any wear. The grip is a beautiful butterscotch throughout. The grip does not present any flaws that are noticeable. The hilt is decorated with a portepee in excellent condition. The scabbard is in VG condition with with some small discoloration spots. This straight scabbard has very crisp, finely grained panels. The carrying bands have a very good pattern of overlapping oak leaves and acorns. The blade is in VG ++ condition and is bright throughout. There are a few small discolorations spots on it. The needle-like tip is still intact. The reverse ricasso is etched with the Eickhorn logo while the front is marked with the vendors name, "W. & L. SCHEBBEN UNIFORMEN AACHEN." The leather blade washer is in place. The reverse ricasso is darkly etched with the 1935 through 1941 squirrel logo.
