Item #16242
1880 dated. Manufactured at Amberg Arsenal. These 11mm rifles were pressed into service due to the arms shortage in Germany during WWI. Rifles like this saw service with reserve troops, POW camp guards, railroad guards, colonial troops and even the Navy. Condition is Very Good. Matching serial numbers, clean bore, white metal (these were not blued), has some patina but no rust or pitting above the stock line. Wood (walnut) has nice grain along with four nice crown M (Kriegsmarine) stamps on the stock. The wood shows light to moderate age and wear. There is an "E" nicely carved in the stock and a 5 1/2 inch long scratch under the forarm. Nice markings. Very nice gun.
