Item #16279
This is the commercial version of the Martini. Manufactured by London Small Arms (LSA). The receiver has the Martini commercial proof and the Canadian Broad Arrow stamp, so this could have seen service in the 1885 Rebellion. It has the early short lever and a mount for the sword bayonet. Caliber is .450. It is in Good condition. The metal has a brown patina with a few spots of light pitting above the stock line, mainly on the barrel. Metal markings are clear. The rear sight ladder is broken / missing. There are no stock cartouches but the letters "pea" are carved in 1/4 inch tall letters. There is also an arrow type design. Action functions. Cleaning rod and sling swings. These rifles could take either a bladed sword bayonet or a spike bayonet. This one comes with a spike bayonet and scabbard. Both are in Very Good condition, although the bayonet blade was shortened approximately 5 inches (probably due to a damaged tip).
