Item #16843
Circa 1890. Very Good+ condition. Has 23 7/8 inch barrels. Originally marked "W.F.&Co. Ex" with an issue number. The issue number was blocked out and it was restamped "WF&Co" with a new number. Up until 1915, Wells Fargo had an express company and this would have been carried by their guards. In 1915 their express company was sold to Railway Express Company. At that time, this gun would have been remarked and used by Wells Fargo Bank guards. These guns are always controversial as each office bought their own guns and had them marked and there are no records available to confirm authenticity. This came to us from the grandson of a Wells Fargo regional manager who retired in the 1960s. Condition is Very Good+. Blueing has browned a bit with age. Clean with no issues.
