Item #6678
Cute .60 cal 1862 dated gun with attractive brass hardware. Except for the date, the lock is unmarked. There are 3 nice crown proofs on the barrel along with a P cartouche. Lock functions nicely. Great plum brown patina. No pitting. Has both a bayonet lug and sling swivels plus a small cavalry ring attached to the trigger guard. Has a hairline crack to the wrist but wood is VG. No cleaning rod. Not sure of origin or Civil War usage, but it could certainly be one of numerous foreign military firearms imported by North & south during the war.
