GWP-0177-JEG WWII German POW Soldbuch and Postwar Ephemera

This item is listed for historical interest only. It is not for sale.
Item #30005

De-nazified soldbuch belonging to Schubert Gunther of Chemnitz, Germany. This solider was a radio operator in Funk-Komp 722. He was captured in Africa and spent the rest of the war in a POW camp under allied supervision. The soldbuch has had all of the swastikas removed or covered. The front cover eagle has been removed entirely and stamps throughout the book have been colored over with pen. The book details Schubert's Army life from the 5th Army's Radio School in the 1930's to his eventual capture. This is a great document that tells a story and is researchable. This comes to us from a descendant of Schubert. The set contains his complete soldbuch with documentation, a postwar Deutche Kennkarte, a French 100 Franc bill, and Schubert's dog tag.
