Item #7194
This "Going Off to War" Banner is contructed of raw silk and is approximately 49" long by 17 1/2" wide with a combination of printed and handpainted designs. These were used as a decoration at going away parties when soldiers were mobilized and sent off to war. Condition is good. There is some fading and moth damage to the border and staining with a few minor holes to the main portion. Even so it displays very well. The top is sleeved for a pole (replacement included) so it can be readily hung up.
