Item #18929
This is one of the finest WWII Japanese Army Officer Samurai Swords we have ever been able to offer in the last 20 years. This was traded to us from Wally's (former owner) private collection for something he really, really wanted. For those of you that know Wally this is very difficult to do. This is an early to mid war hand made Gunto style sword by a very well known wartime sword smith. The tang is signed with the sword smiths name (Hide Yuki) a resident of Musashi province. This sword is in exceptional condition. Unaltered and virtually as it was when it was made. The metal fittings has 90% + remaining paint and guilt finish, especially the Tsuba. Just a few age spots to the very tip of its 26" blade. Has leather combat cover on the steel scabbard. The blade has a very distinctive temper line ("Genome-Midare style).
