This item is listed for historical interest only. It is not for sale.
Item #18146

This WWII to Occupation Japanese Silk Meatball flag ID'd to US soldier. This flag was made of the very fine silk. The flag has writing on it. At the top " Matsuyama and Kochi Shitotu, Japan." Next line down "Special Service, 19th INF. 24th Div. Asakura." Then on the right side of the flag is "David F. Moreland, T Takagto 2nd Bn. Interpreter. Askura, 29th April 1946" Then at the bottom is "For the sake of friendship between America and Japan. I sincerely pray to God for your good health." The flag has slightly yellowed, and has some minor yellowed age spots across the flag. A fascinating piece and one that we hope to add some additional photos to soon.
