Item #18298
This is a great grouping that is centered around the bring back items of a US Army veteran named Corporal Fritz A. Scharnhorst. To start the grouping off is a very intricate laminate wood inlayed box (size 10.5" x 8.25" x 3.25"). The box is named and dated on the inside October 16, 1945 Yokohama, Japan. Inside the box is a modern print out of CPL Fritz Scharnhorst National Archives Records and three pieces of currency. Some of the notes are personalized Fritz and dated 18 October 1945. The "rising sun" flag which is also included is approximately 26" by 35" and is made of the typical very think silk. The flag is in very good condition with only some very minor wear or runs to the edges. It also retains the typical braided ties sewn to two edges of the flag.
