UIQ-0011-VIN 1930's Willson Motorcycle Goggles Tin
Item #29789
Very good condition blue tin case for Willson motorcycle goggles. Thomas A. Willson & Co. opened the first company to produce optical lenses in the United States in 1871 and the company would continue to produce goggles, glasses, and personal protective equipment for both the military and the public until the company closed in 2002. During this time, they outfitted pilots for both World Wars with aviator's goggles and high altitude masks as well as motorcycle and vehicle drivers with dust and wind goggles.
This tin is for their 1930's era motorcycle goggles. The tin is enameled a navy blue, almost purple color. Surface cracking shows age but the tin retains approximately 95% of its original color. It measures approximately 6 inches long by 2 and 7/8 inches wide, with a depth of about an inch and a half. Willson stamp on top is in VG condition.
