UWP-0271 Original WWII Bronze Star Nomination Letter

WWII Dated Bronze Star Medal nomination letter written by 2nd Lieutenant Arthur K. Mulhall of the 387th Infantry. Tells the story of a Technician 4th Grade Walter A. Thorpe who captured German POWs, flushed out more Germans under sniper fire, raided houses, captured and destroyed about 100 rifles and automatic weapons, and forced the surrender of a total of nearly 300 Germans. Letter praises Tec 4 Thorpe and asserts that he should receive recognition for his "highly commendable and deserving of merit" actions. Two pages. Fair condition given age. Light discoloration and tearing.
