1.75” wide, faint Watervliet Arsenal stamp with inspector’s (ch) initials. Good – VG condition: leather supple, age cracking to finish with some surface flaking, has 3 extra holes punched near female end. No buckle but retains both sets of brass hardware. (See pgs 25-26 of Dorsey’s book: (American Military Belts and Related Equipments). This style belt was known as the “Mann Cavalry Sabre Belt”, named after it’s inventor, Col William D Mann of the 1st Michigan Cavalry.
