1.75 wide, faint Watervliet Arsenal stamp with inspectors (ch) initials. Good VG condition: leather supple, age cracking to finish with some surface flaking, has 3 extra holes punched near female end. No buckle but retains both sets of brass hardware. (See pgs 25-26 of Dorseys book: (American Military Belts and Related Equipments). This style belt was known as the Mann Cavalry Sabre Belt, named after its inventor, Col William D Mann of the 1st Michigan Cavalry.
