Very Good+ condtiion cover marked front "US" and back "H 49 IA LEB 75" (Believe this is an Iowa National Guard unit). It has the wider haversack eather strap (favord by the soldiers) which is 1908 dated and ROck ISland Arsenal marked. Sling shows light to moderate age / wear. Although technically obsolete a lot of these canteens remained in service with reserve units on the Mexican border until 1916.
