UWG-0779-JG US WWII Teletype Model 15Y Code Page Printer

Quantity:
Price:  $599.95

Item #28401

The Teletype model 15 is a Baudot code page printer. During WWII, the Model 28 was scheduled to replace the Model 15  in the 1940's but Teletype had made so many factories to produce the Model 15 that it made more economic sense to produce them in the "receiver configuration" model until 1963. The removable keyboard made these excellent for sharing communication during WWII and even later into the Korean War. Dated January 1940. Serial number XKU1555. Made in the USA by General Electric. Officially stamped "15Y Typing Unit" with patents 2062108, 2257553, 2353597, and 2381566. Good condition, could use a little extra cleaning but displays well. Has not been function tested but cord has been replaced. Does not have outer housing or Q, W, V, carriage return, and return key faces but has the keys themselves fully attached.
