VG, made by the famous U.S. sword making firm of Ames MFG. Co. Chicopee Falls Mass. The 28” blade is nice and bright; the only flaw is that some one started to lightly sharpen the first 4” of the tip. And a rarity for these swords… it still has its leather scabbard and it is in good+ condition. There are a couple weak spots in it but they are not terrible, nor is it in danger of falling apart as long as it is handled carefully.
