UCK-0017-WPN Civil War US M1840 Artillery Sword

This item is listed for historical interest only. It is not for sale.
Item #29814

Mfg. by Ames and 1862 dated. A good worn example that shows some age but remains on overall good presentable condition. The blade has the J.H. initials of Joseph Hannis, who was a Federal sword inspector from 1838-1862. The blade is a solid heavy duty combat style with micro-pitting in a few spots of slightly deeper "blood pitting." There are some dings to the cutting edge. Brass guard was polished and sealed. Varnish could be removed to restore. Leather grip and wire are intact with glue repair to wire wrap. Decent scabbard.
