Price:  $299.95

Item #30157

This is the pilot parachute for the Drogue (Drag) parachute for an SR-71 Blackbird. The pilot chute is used to catch the wind and deploy the main drag parachute to slow down the aircraft upon landing. This pilot chute is for use with the Lockheed SR-71 strategic recon aircraft used by the USAF from 1966 to 1998. The chute is in good collectible condition and is manufacture dated March 1986. The tag for its decommissioning is attached to the tip and the chute has 23 tally marks for deployments. The tag shows the FSN, part number, and item description as well as reason for decommissioning. The condition code is marked "H" for unserviceable (condemned) unfit for use and the reason is marked "Exceeded operational limit 25 deployments". It was inspected by William Shield (TSgt.) on March 31st, 1988. The whole chute measure roughly 70" long but the cords are tied so overall length would be longer if they were let out. The rapid deployment spring is in good condition.
