Item #22296
This rocket piece was used by the 94th Field Artillery unit against the Iraqi elite Republican Guard on February 26, 1991. The RG was taken by surprise on the 24th of February when the US VII Corps launched an unexpected full force attack. Two days later, the rocket from which this piece was a part of was aimed at and launched upon Republican Guard positions. This artillery backing is signed by members of the 94t Field Artillery; one of the inscriptions on this plate says "Best SPLL 89 War Rockets," leaving us with the assumption that this was one of 89 rockets fired upon the RG. A fantastic piece of history that commemorates the Persian Gulf War, this would look fantastic hung up on a wall or for display in a museum.
