UH-465, 1930s US Army Officer's Visor Cap

This item is listed for historical interest only. It is not for sale.
Item #14659

Good to Very Good condition. Wool top has only two moth nips which are hidden under the crown edge, making them only visible when the hat is turned over. The visor has age cracking / chipping to its edge trim with some light surface cracking to the visor itself. The Eagle device is finely detailed and the correct size for these early prewar caps. Chin strap is in Very Good condition. Sweat band is Good to Very Good, light to moderate age and wear. Silk style lining has some rim degrading along with a couple spots on the main lining body. Sweat diamond is cracked in two spots, but otherwise complete. Nice maker logo under diamond (The Stratton Company 5th Ave. NY). Approximate size 7. Looks better than it sounds.
