Item #19198

This coat is a really nice custom tailored OD service jacket named to a Sergeant H.F. Lowe. The uniform was made by Macintosh "Studio" Clothes in Hollywood, California in June of 1944. The tag is also marked a size 42 which it does measure out to be correct. The uniform is the regulation cut and style but it has a few little differences where the collar discs go onto the lapel there is a grommet hole for the discs to be attached. The interior of the coat is a purple silk or rayon material. SGT Lowe also has a Department of Alaska combat patch and a Port of embarkation patch. On the sleeve he has two service stripes signifying six years of service and five overseas stripes signifying two and a half years of overseas service. He also has OD E5 Sergeant stripes. This coat also exhibits a number of early features which were eliminated on these service coats during the war, it still retains the belt ramps in the back as well as the by-swing back. Nice large size uniform.
