USK-0007WCN Indian War Era US M1872 Cavalry Sword

Quantity:
Price:  $129.95

Item #29150

A worn example of this "combat" sword that replaced the much heavier M1860 sabre. this one was manufactured at Springfield Armory and is marked so on the riccasso. The plated blade is lightly etched with a floral /military design. It is well worn with approximately 25% of the plate remaining. The leather and wire wrap for the grip is missing but the wood base remains and looks presentable. The brass guard shows some age but the eagle design and federal shield remain strong. Steel scabbard has browned with age and plating has flaked off. The hanger rims are missing but it is undented. Note: customer has the option of taking these swords to the little big horn but passed it up.
