Item #22627
This is a great piece of artwork that was produced in the Panama Canal zone as a keepsake. The silk embroidery says "In Memory of my visit to the Panama Canal." The center has a picture of an unnamed soldier who was with the Rail head unit in Europe and was fairly well decorated with a Belgian or French Croix de Guerre. Additionally he is wearing a "Sons of San Francisco" medal and a marksmanship medal. The blue silk background is in great shape along with the silk and silver bullion thread. Both sides show the American and Panamanian Flags in silk embroidery. Then at the bottom is a nice old Great White Fleet style ship. The silk piece is approximately 23" wide by 27" tall. This is framed and the overall framed size is 26" wide by 30" tall.
