UWG-0403 WWII US Army Radio Receiver and Transmitter BC611E

This item is listed for historical interest only. It is not for sale.
Item #23416

This is an excellent condition WWII US Army Radio Receiver and Transmitter BC-611-E.  These were used extensively during World War Two by both the Army and the Marine Corps.  The radio is in good condition with light to moderate wear.  The only damage is where several holes were drilled to the back of the radio battery compartment.  Additionally the battery compartment door screw is frozen but is at a point to where the door could still open.  This could possibly be fixed with a little work. Some of the exposed metal surfaces have some light rust on them.  The interior all seems to be intact and in nice clean condition.  This is a very unique radio as it has both "BEACH PARTY" stenciled in black and "202" with a large round circle painted on the opposite side in what appears to be the vesicant paint which detected poisonous gas.  This is a very interesting radio and shows real signs that the radio was used as part of a beach landing.  Additionally The radio appears to have been a BC-611-D then later updated to a BC-611-E with the addition of a glued tag to the data plate.
