This is in overall very good condition with signs of age and use. The blade edge is in very good condition with the blade bearing an ornate detailed etching. The ricasso is stamped "Fenton Brothers LTD. Sheffield Cutlers ESTD 1850" and "Sword Cutlers to the War Office." The reverse side of the ricasso is proof marked with the star of david "VEP PRO." The blade shows nice patina. The grip shows wear and worn down spots where it was held. The scabbard is in excellent shape. The leather wrap is solidly attached and is nice and supple. Attached is a leather portepee that shows age and cracking.
