WWI/ WWII US Army Gunner's Quadrant Model 1918. This is basically a gun clinometer which was an instrument used to set machine gun elevation or depression angles for Browning 1917 or artillery weapons like Howitzers. They were also used for checking adjustments or elevation on sighting devices. This particular one is in its WWII made wood box which is labeled "Chest Packing for Gunners Quadrant." The box is in fair condition but the actual quadrant and level are in excellent condition. The Quadrant is still marked M1918 made by Central Scientific Co. with a production date of 1918. Other than some minor chips and wear to the paint it is in excellent condition.
