This is in overall good, functional condition. Both the lid and base are constructed of WWI Era German artillery shell casings. The lid is  head stamped "Karth 242 JULI 1916 Sp255 PATRONENFABRIK KARLSRUHE." The base is head stamped " Karth Sp1988 POLTE APRIL 1910 MAGDEBURG." Minor patina to the brass overall but nothings drastic.
