GU-237. WWII German Boot Inner Soles
Item #10841
Similar to those shown on PG 81 of Augustin Saizs book Deutsche Soldaten. These were made in neutral Sweden, a country that reluctantly exported items to Nazi Germany during the war. These were sold in German military canteens and were a comfort to soldiers with sore feet! (most do not have labels). These look to be mostly large sizes (10&11) which can be trimmed down using the stitch pattern to fit smaller boots. They are made of a fibrous material similar to jute. Typical example shown.
