UWG-0851-WPN WWII Naval Training Facility Locking Deposit Bag

Quantity:
Price:  $49.95

Item #30063

WWII locking deposit bag from Farragut Naval Training Station in Farragut, Idaho. During WWII, this base was constructed to be a training facility. After its completion, it was the second largest training center in the world. This facility was a training center for 293,000 sailors over a period of 30 months and was also used as a POW camp for 900 German Prisoners of War after their capture on D-Day.

This bag is marked "Ships Service Department, Farragut, Idaho, 245" on the front and has had multiple other markings written and stenciled onto the front reading "914, A4, Gilmore" as well as additional "Gilmore" stenciled onto the back. The locks are manufactured by Yale and the keeper is marked "Made for Strayer Lock-Seal" but scratches make this difficult to read. The bag is in good condition, save for a small stain on the bottom right. There are no keys with this bag but there are no contents believed to be inside.
